Information

Some info about your photosession with me:

My photoshoots usually last between one and two hours. I don't impose a time limit as such because children will often want a change of pace, perhaps a snack and a cuddle with mum. My aim is to make the photoshoot itself fun and relaxed so there is no stress for any of us.

I like to keep things simple and honest.
I am not a studio photographer and I don't bring a mobile studio with me. Using only natural light does give me some technical challenges but I truly believe it enables me to capture images that show real feelings.
I take some time to get to know you before I start photographing, and then I let the photoshoot unfold naturally. I don't demand big smiles or leaps in the air, and please don't instruct your child to say 'cheese'. I am very happy to capture your child's shy sideways glance or tentative smile because that is authentic, and usually after a short time I see the wider smiles and open expressions that arrive when a new friendship has been made.
If you would like to include the family pet in your photos I'm happy with that.

After your photoshoot I assess each image and edit them in the digital equivalent of the darkroom. About 2 weeks after your photoshoot I will have about 30 - 50 finished images for you to view, they will also be uploaded into your own password protected gallery.

There is no obligation to buy anything.

Some little bits about me:

As you can see from this website I am a photographer of people but in my spare time I love to photograph flowers, gardens, and the flora and fauna found on our lovely Somerset nature reserves. Some of these pictures make an appearance on my blog and in my Folksy shop.

I like to knit during Winter evenings and garden in the Summer.

I bake all my own bread (organic)

I try to live as sustainable a life as I can reasonably manage

I am proud to have gained my BSc Hons with the Open University

I enjoyed a childhood filled with fantasy and magic - I spent many happy hours searching out the secret mossy places where fairies lived. I want my photographs of children to show something of their enjoyment of their own magical possibilities.
